Our Mandarin Program

The Mandarin Language Teacher Program is the cornerstone initiative of BGEMS, dedicated to recruiting, training, certifying, and placing qualified Mandarin language teachers in K–12 schools across the United States. Since its launch, the program has supported over 300 teachers, and currently supports 35 who are serving in Louisiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Minnesota—collectively reaching approximately 14,000 students.

Running a program of this scale requires careful coordination, strong partnerships, and ongoing support for both teachers and schools. As part of the program, participating educators are eligible to teach in the U.S. under a J-1 visa for up to five (5) years.

Our Mandarin teachers are all from China, with extensive experience in K-12 education and the necessary teaching certifications to ensure high-quality instructional standards.
Additionally, our teaching team includes educators with experience in teaching AP Chinese Language and Culture and IB Chinese, enabling students to systematically learn and prepare effectively for these internationally recognized exams.
Our teachers are well-versed in exam requirements and grading criteria, helping students enhance their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while deepening their academic and cultural understanding.

We provide structured and engaging Mandarin curriculum support for K-12 schools, ensuring access to high-quality textbooks, teaching resources, and digital learning materials.
Our program meets the needs of different grade levels and proficiency levels, helping teachers deliver effective instruction.
Beyond the classroom, we offer a variety of extracurricular activities, such as Mandarin clubs, to inspire students’ interest in learning and enhance their language application skills.

Teacher Training & Ongoing Support

Cultural Adaptation: Teaching in a cross-cultural environment can be challenging. We provide guidance to help teachers integrate into the school community, build relationships with students, collaborate with colleagues, and adapt to school policies.
Teaching Training & Classroom Management: We conduct regular training on teaching strategies, curriculum implementation, and classroom management to help teachers refine instruction, enhance engagement, and encourage participation.
Teaching Resources & Activities: We provide teaching materials, curriculum plans, and interactive activities to help teachers improve lesson quality and create engaging learning experiences.

Holistic Student Development

Mandarin Club: We create Mandarin clubs for a relaxed, engaging language exchange. Through games, storytelling, and cultural activities, students practice speaking, boosting confidence and communication.
YCT & HSK Certification: We help students prepare for YCT and HSK exams. Passing earns internationally recognized Mandarin certifications, strengthening academic and career prospects.
Cross-Cultural Exchange: We organize Mandarin exhibitions, student exchanges, and study tours to China, offering immersive experiences. Students explore Chinese traditions, history, and daily life, enhancing cross-cultural communication.
