One of the most beneficial programs is its “High School China Trip,” where students from all over Kentucky and beyond, including the #1 ranked high school in the U.S. the Gatton Academy have had a chance to visit China. Over 160 high school students, specifically, have had a chance to visit China, which really helped to elevate test scores, and interest in studying Mandarin language beyond high school. In the summer of 2023, BGEMS led 11 individuals to China, which was the first program since COVID-19, led a delegation of 16 students from Francis Parker School of Louisville in 2024, and let a delegation of 17 to China in the summer of 2025.
