Successful Completion of the 2025 High School Summer China Immersion Program

Program Review

The China Cultural and Language Immersion Program, which began in Beijing, has successfully concluded. During the program, participants visited historical and cultural sites, including Tiananmen Square and the Great Wall, gaining firsthand experience beyond what is learned from books. The itinerary also included visits to universities and multiple high schools to deepen understanding of Chinese culture and language. Participants had opportunities to shop at the Silk Market, Pearl Market, local shops, and the French Concession, collecting souvenirs from their journey.

Highlight Events: School Visits

We led our students on visits to Changchun Foreign Languages School and the Affiliated High School of Northeast Normal University.
At Changchun Foreign Languages School, students attended Chinese culture classes, thematic lectures, and a paper-cutting workshop. Through these diverse activities, American high school students not only experienced the warmth and hospitality of Changchun Foreign Languages School but also gained a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
At the Affiliated High School of Northeast Normal University, students experienced sports classes including table tennis, fencing, aerobics, and basketball. During the cooking class, students personally prepared mung bean cakes, savoring the delicacy of Chinese culinary culture. In the calligraphy class, everyone learned the art of Chinese calligraphy, practicing brush techniques and appreciating the beauty of Chinese characters.

Highlight Events: City Exploration

In the cities of Changchun, Beijing, and Chengdu, we led our students on visits to landmarks such as the Changchun Film Studio, the Great Wall, and Tiananmen Square.

Highlight Events: Shadow Buddy Program

We paired our student’s one-on-one with Chinese students, allowing them to experience daily life in China, participate in classroom activities, and engage in cultural exchange.
